Foundation Wall Treatment

Strengthening, sealing, and protecting foundation walls in older and newer homes.

Service Overview

Basement walls change over time. Cracks appear, masonry deteriorates, old repairs fail, and moisture can leave its mark long before there’s water on the floor.

FGS looks at the condition of the wall itself—where it’s cracking, where moisture is showing up, and whether previous repairs are still doing their job. Depending on what we find, the work may involve crack repair, sealing, surface treatment, or other practical wall improvements.

The goal is to address what the wall is telling us, not simply cover it up.

What We Work On

Foundation Cracks
Repairing cracks and openings that can allow moisture through or continue to deteriorate.

Wall Moisture
Addressing damp areas, seepage, and other signs of moisture moving through basement masonry.

Masonry Repair
Repairing deteriorated joints, damaged areas, and localized masonry problems.

Previous Repairs
Evaluating and correcting older patches, coatings, or repairs that are no longer performing as intended.

Before We Treat the Wall, We Read the Wall.

The crack itself
Its direction, width, location, and whether there are signs that it has changed over time.

Where moisture appears
A damp patch, staining, efflorescence, or active seepage can help tell us how water is interacting with the wall.

The condition around it
Mortar joints, masonry surfaces, coatings, and adjacent areas can reveal whether the problem is isolated or part of something larger.

What’s been done before
Old patches, sealants, coatings, and previous repairs often provide useful clues about the history of the wall.
